Bobby Ward plays the guitar and sings for the group. He started playing and singing at a young age and has played with several gospel groups but decided the Bluegrass Gospelaires was the one he wanted to be a part of and we're glad he did.
Jim and Linda Henson - Jim plays the guitar and sings. He also writes songs and has written 2 of the songs that the group performs. He too, played and sang in his early years but let it fall by the way until he met up with Buford, as did his wife Linda, when the three of them formed the Bluegrass Gospelaires. Linda plays the Bass Fiddle for the group. She started playing the Bass at age 13, as well
as the guitar and piano. She is presently learning to play the Mandolin and will be singing for the group in the future.
She and Buford are the backup singers for the group.
Buford Tankersley is the Banjo player for the group. He has been playing and singing for many years and with many groups. He also plays the guitar and writes songs too. It was through Buford and Jim's friendship at Cornerstone Baptist Church that led to forming this group.
Buford has also agreed that the Bluegrass Gospelaires is the group for him.
Jack Mcdivitt is our Mandolin player. He is the only Tennessean in the group. Jack also plays with other groups in Tennessee but always seems to have our playing dates open, He also plays the guitar and sings sometimes.
In mid-year of 2007, we appeared in concert and opened for the award-winning Tennessee Gentlemen at the Civic Auditorium in West Memphis, AR.
In November 2007, Dottie Rambo appeared in concert at Cornerstone Baptist Church in West Memphis, AR. We were fortunate enough to open for her and even more fortunate when she asked us to come back up on the stage and play and sing with her. That was one of the most memorable times in the Bluegrass Gospelaires singing career.
